Staging…Does it Really Make a Difference?
First impressions are crucial in real estate. Making your home look its best is a fundamental part of the selling process.
Properly staging your home and removing unnecessary clutter can make all the difference: results often lead to a quick sale, with an opportunity to achieve a final sale price close to, or even over the asking price. Staging allows buyers to picture themselves living in a warm and inviting environment and it often gets them excited about the home.
Emotions play a crucial part in the process of buying and selling homes. I have re-listed properties that had not been previously staged. When they were taken off the market for staging and subsequently relaunched, these home sold quickly and achieved great selling results.
Staging your home doesn't have to be a terribly expensive or complicated process. For many sellers it can be a process of removing clutter, rearranging furniture and adding a few key pieces to the mix. Staging is critical when you are selling a vacant home with little or no furniture.
"You don't get a second chance to make a first impression." In this strong market where inventory is plentiful, sellers need to stand out from the crowd.

This is so true! Emotions are everything and first impressions stick with a buyer for as long as they are buying. I like how you describe it as inexpensive, as it really is. Often it’s just removing the clutter in every visible part of the house, but that can be quite time-consuming if you don’t know what you’re doing. Most important I’d say are the kitchen, washrooms and entranceway – this last one is especially important for open houses when dozens of people are moving through the front door, which just adds to the clutter.
